• Difference Between AN Size and Thread Size

1. AN Size: Refers to the diameter of the fitting or hose. AN (Army Navy) sizes are standardized hose and pipe connection sizes, measured in 1/16 inch increments. For example, 4AN means the pipe's outer diameter is 4/16 inch (1/4 inch).
2. Thread Size: Refers to the diameter and pitch of the thread, usually in metric or imperial units. For example, M12x1.5 means the thread diameter is 12 mm, and the pitch is 1.5 mm.
