Performance Intercoolers for More Consistent Turbo Power

When a turbocharger compresses intake air, the charge temperature rises. During repeated acceleration, the intercooler can become heat soaked, causing hotter and less dense air to reach the engine. Depending on the calibration, the engine management system may reduce ignition timing or boost as knock risk increases. A properly matched intercooler helps control intake air temperature and deliver more consistent turbo power rather than promising a fixed horsepower gain.

This collection contains Evil Energy vehicle specific front mount intercooler kits for selected Camaro LS turbo conversions. Both are complete air to air intercooler systems designed around a specific chassis, engine and turbo location. They are not universal intercooler cores.

Choose the Correct Camaro Intercooler Kit

Do not choose between a 3 inch and 4 inch core by thickness alone. The correct Camaro intercooler kit is determined first by the vehicle year, engine configuration and turbo position.

What Comes With an Evil Energy Turbo Intercooler Kit?

Both turbo intercooler kits include the aluminum intercooler, matched 3 inch intercooler piping, a 50 mm BOV, mounting brackets, reinforced silicone couplers and heavy duty clamps. When the kit is used with its specified Camaro and turbo position, the piping and BOV do not need to be purchased separately.

  • Confirm the exact model year, chassis and engine or swap configuration.
  • Verify the turbo is mounted in the position specified for the selected kit.
  • Measure bumper, grille, radiator, AC condenser and crash bar clearance.
  • Allow for possible trimming of plastic shrouds or adjustment of bracket height.
  • Pressure test the completed charge system for leaks and verify the engine calibration before full boost operation.

For a custom chassis or a different turbo route, a universal intercooler piping kit is available separately and may require cutting or fabrication. Twin turbo and extreme horsepower builds should be selected using verified airflow, pressure drop and charge temperature data rather than core thickness alone.

Before ordering, confirm the exact chassis, engine, turbo location, 3 inch connections and available space behind the bumper. Builds outside these combinations should not be treated as direct fit applications.

A different turbo position, twin turbo layout or modified front structure may require custom pipes and fabrication.

The current Evil Energy intercooler kits are designed around specific single turbo Camaro layouts and do not have a verified 1,500 hp twin turbo rating, CFM capacity or pressure drop test. A build at this level requires a core and end tank configuration rated with documented airflow, pressure loss, charge temperature and crank or wheel horsepower conditions. Treat these Camaro kits as unsuitable for a 1,500 hp twin turbo project unless Evil Energy completes and publishes application specific testing.
