Most fuel and oil lines carry one path in, one path out — until you need to feed a second carburetor, tap a return line, or add a sensor without cutting into your existing hose. An AN male tee fitting solves this by splitting one line into two without adding a separate fuel line splitter block or reworking your whole routing. All Ports Are Male: How This Differs From a Male-to-Female Tee

Because every port on these AN hose fittings is male, each one still needs a female-threaded hose end, adapter, or component to connect to it. That's the trade-off for a fully symmetrical, reusable tee that works the same no matter which port becomes the branch.

Flow, Sealing & Fit Notes Before You Buy

Every branch you add pulls flow away from the others — don't run one tee to feed two high-demand components, like twin high-pressure pumps, off the same line. Working pressure on most of these fittings tops out around 1500 PSI, so match the tee's rating to your system before it goes in.

On any tee built with AN to NPT threads, only the NPT side needs sealant — a couple of wraps of PTFE tape or pipe dope on the tapered threads. What's the difference between an AN male tee and an AN male-to-female tee fitting?

An AN male tee fitting has male threads on all three ports — often three male AN flare ends, or male AN flare on the run with a male NPT branch — so every port still needs a female hose end or adapter to connect.

An AN male-to-female tee keeps the run male AN flare but makes the branch female, letting you thread straight onto a fuel rail, pressure regulator, or gauge stud without an extra adapter.

Splitting a hose into two more hose lines → stay with an all-male tee. Tapping a component that already has a male stud → use a male-to-female tee.

Every branch on a tee splits the available flow, so running two high-pressure pumps or injectors off the same size tee usually starves both sides under load. Size the run for total system flow, and if two components each need full flow, run them off separate lines instead of a single splitter.

Only on the NPT side, if your tee has one. The 37° AN flare ports seal metal-to-metal under compression and don't need tape or sealant — adding it there can actually cause leaks by keeping the flare faces from seating fully. On any male NPT thread, two to three wraps of PTFE tape or a thin coat of pipe dope on the tapered threads is enough.

Most leaks trace back to a damaged or scratched flare face, a cross-threaded connection, or a fitting that was only hand-tightened. AN flare seals rely on a clean, undamaged 37° surface pressed together with the right torque — hand-tight alone usually isn't enough on aluminum or steel fittings, so use a wrench and snug it down properly. Inspect both flare faces for nicks before reassembly, and replace a fitting rather than trying to re-seal a gouged flare.

Match the tee's AN size to the hose already on your car — a -6AN tee for -6AN fuel line, -8AN for -8AN oil line, and so on.
