LED Headlight Bulbs

Match the original bulb code and exact lamp position before comparing lumen output. Confirm the vehicle year, make, model and trim; whether the bulb serves the high beam, low beam or fog light; the code printed on the original bulb; connector and voltage; rear housing clearance; dust cover; retaining hardware; and CANbus or PWM behavior. An H11 or H7 product label alone does not prove fit because bulb requirements can change between model years, trims and lamp positions.

Sometimes the physical installation is simple, but socket fit, beam compatibility and permitted road use are separate checks.

Selected EVIL ENERGY bulbs use compact designs, but certain vehicles may still require an H7 retainer, decoder or additional rear clearance. In a February 2024 interpretation, NHTSA stated that LED replaceable light sources were not permitted in replaceable bulb headlamps under FMVSS No. 108. Confirm the product’s intended application and current federal, state and local requirements before public road use.

H11 and H7 are different bulb bases and should not be substituted for one another. H11 products are commonly used in single beam low beam or fog light positions, while H7 bulbs commonly use a separate retaining clip or vehicle specific adapter. 9005/HB3 and 9006/HB4 are also single beam families that often serve different positions. H4/9003/HB2 commonly combines high and low beam functions in one bulb. The original bulb code and exact lamp position remain the deciding factors.

Install the bulbs as a matched pair and inspect the beam pattern before driving.

1. Park on level ground, switch off the lights and allow the engine compartment to cool.
2. Remove the dust cover and disconnect the original bulb without pulling on the wires.
3. Release the bulb lock, retaining clip or adapter and remove the old bulb.
4. Seat the LED bulb fully in the same orientation specified by its instructions.
5. Secure the driver and wiring away from moving parts, sharp edges and hot components.
6. Restore the dust cover and test both high and low beam functions.
7. Face a wall on level ground and check for an even cutoff, correct aim and excessive upward glare.

If the bulb does not illuminate, confirm polarity before diagnosing a failed bulb.

A bulb only replacement normally costs much less than replacing a complete headlamp assembly. United States retail guides place individual headlight bulbs at roughly $10 to more than $100 depending on technology, while professional bulb replacement adds vehicle specific labor.

Evil Energy LED headlight bulb are generally sold as two bulb sets, so confirm the live product price, package quantity and whether an adapter, decoder, dust cover modification or professional aiming is required. A cracked, fogged or electronically failed headlamp assembly is a different repair and can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.
