| Buyer Problem | How This Pan Addresses It | What to Verify |
|---|---|---|
| Factory LS pan hangs too low | Low-profile rear-sump design provides a defined depth for mock-up | Compare the real pan dimension with the crossmember and lowest chassis point |
| Front of the factory pan contacts the crossmember | Rear sump leaves more room around the front portion of the pan in suitable chassis | Confirm that the chassis has adequate space behind the crossmember |
| Buyer has to source pickup, baffle and gasket separately | Matching pickup, baffle and gasket are included | Confirm all parts and the pickup O-ring are present before installation |
| Stock dipstick gives an incorrect oil-level reading | LS3-style dipstick and tube are specified | Purchase GM 12669528 and 12625031 or verified equivalents |
| Engine uses a stroker crank | Supports strokes up to 3.62 inches | Do not use with a stroke greater than the published limit |
| Buyer has an LS7 or LS9 | This product does not solve that application |
Select a dry-sump-compatible system instead |
Suitable for builders converting a GM muscle or classic car chassis from a traditional rear-sump small-block or big-block layout to a Gen III/IV LS engine, provided all chassis measurements are verified.
A potential option when a deeper factory truck pan hangs below the crossmember or creates insufficient ground clearance. Final fitment depends on the engine mounts, crossmember and steering configuration.
Best suited to naturally aspirated or modified wet-sump combinations that remain within the 3.62-inch maximum crankshaft-stroke specification.
The included pickup, baffle, gasket and hardware reduce separate parts matching, but the windage tray, dipstick, filter, oil and other installation consumables still need to be planned.
Browse additional LS engine swap components for the rest of the project.
