Q: Is 3/16 inch fuel line the same as 5mm fuel line?
A: Yes. 3/16 inch equals 4.76 mm, and most manufacturers, including EVIL ENERGY, list the metric equivalent as 5 mm. It will fit fittings and barbs marketed as either size.

Q: Can I use this hose on a fuel-injected (EFI) engine?
A: No. SAE 30R7 is a low-pressure standard (up to 300 PSI) for carbureted fuel supply, return and vapor lines. Modern EFI systems commonly run 40–100 PSI but require SAE 30R9 or PTFE hose for long-term ethanol permeation resistance. For EFI builds, use our PTFE fuel line.

Q: Is this hose safe to submerge inside a fuel tank?
A: No. This is an external, non-submersible hose. For in-tank pickup or sender lines, use a submersible-rated hose.

Q: Does it work with E85 or methanol?
A: It is compatible with pump gas containing up to E15 without issue. Continuous exposure to E85 or methanol is not recommended, since NBR can soften over time — choose PTFE for E85/M100 builds.

Q: What push-lock fittings fit this hose?
A: Any 3/16" ID push-lock or barb fitting. We recommend our EVIL ENERGY push-lock fittings for a leak-free seal without hose clamps.

Q: Can I use it for coolant or power steering fluid?
A: NBR resists water and oil, but this hose is not rated for pressurized coolant systems. For coolant, use our silicone or EPDM cooling hose.

Q: Is a hose clamp still needed with push-lock fittings?
A: With proper 30R7 push-lock fittings, no clamp is required for pressures within the working range. Some technicians still add a mini worm-gear clamp for vibration-heavy locations (marine, off-road) as a belt-and-suspenders measure.
