Complete Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Line Kit

The EVIL ENERGY stainless steel braided CPE fuel line kit combines a 20FT cut-to-length hose, ten aluminum swivel hose ends, two separator clamps, and an adjustable AN wrench. It provides the core components needed to fabricate custom fuel, oil, transmission, coolant, hydraulic or vacuum lines without purchasing each fitting angle and assembly tool separately.

Available in 6AN, 8AN and 10AN, the kit suits custom street cars, race vehicles, engine swaps, restoration projects and workshop-built fluid systems. It is a universal fabrication kit rather than a vehicle-specific replacement line.

What Makes This Stainless Braided CPE Hose Different?

Upgraded Tighter Stainless Steel Braid

The stainless steel wire layer uses a tighter braided structure designed to produce a cleaner cut with fewer loose wire strands. This makes it easier to insert the cut hose into the fitting socket and reduces the risk of stray braid blocking correct hose-end engagement.

The stainless exterior also protects the CPE inner tube from abrasion and helps control pressure-related expansion in demanding automotive fluid systems.

Two-Layer Pressure-Resistant Construction

The CPE synthetic rubber inner tube carries compatible automotive fluids, while the braided 304 stainless steel outer layer reinforces and protects the hose. This combination provides more exterior protection than an unbraided rubber hose while retaining the flexibility required for custom routing.

The 6AN and 8AN variants support up to 750 PSI working pressure and 2,250 PSI burst pressure. The larger 10AN variant supports up to 625 PSI working pressure and 1,875 PSI burst pressure. All three sizes operate from -22°F to 248°F.

How Do the 360-Degree Swivel AN Fittings Improve Routing?

The kit includes straight, 45-degree, 90-degree and 180-degree hose ends for routing around fuel tanks, pumps, filters, regulators, oil coolers and other closely positioned components. The swivel connection allows the fitting direction to be adjusted during assembly before final tightening.

Each fitting is manufactured from lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum. Select the hose and fitting variant that matches the rest of the system: 6AN uses 9/16-18 UNF, 8AN uses 3/4-16 UNF and 10AN uses 7/8-14 UNF.

These hose ends are designed for compatible CPE stainless steel braided hose. Do not substitute PTFE hose or mix sockets, nipples and hose from different AN sizes.

Why Is an Adjustable AN Wrench Included?

Aluminum hose ends can be scratched or rounded by unsuitable steel tools. The included 6061-T6 aluminum wrench adjusts from 3AN through 16AN, allowing it to engage the fitting flats while reducing metal-to-metal surface damage.

The marked adjustment range, curved handle and non-slip grip provide controlled leverage during assembly. The wrench can also be used with other compatible AN fittings within its adjustment range.

Where Can the Stainless Steel Braided CPE Hose Be Used?

  • Fuel-system plumbing: Non-ethanol gasoline, race gas and diesel supply or return lines.
  • Oil and transmission plumbing: Engine oil, oil cooler and transmission cooler lines operating within the selected hose rating.
  • Coolant plumbing: Compatible coolant and antifreeze lines within the specified temperature range.
  • Hydraulic and vacuum plumbing: Custom hydraulic-fluid and vacuum applications using compatible fittings and ports.

Universal-fit notice: Measure the required hose length, port sizes, fitting angles and available routing space before selecting a variant. Cutting and hose-end assembly are required.

Fuel restriction: Do not use this CPE hose with E10, E85, methanol or other alcohol-rich fuels. Select a PTFE fuel line kit with PTFE-specific hose ends for those applications.

Safety restriction: This kit is not intended for automotive brake-line applications.

What Does the Stainless Braided Fuel Line Kit Include?

  • 1 × 20FT stainless steel braided CPE hose in the selected AN size
  • 4 × straight swivel hose ends
  • 2 × 45-degree swivel hose ends
  • 2 × 90-degree swivel hose ends
  • 2 × 180-degree swivel hose ends
  • 2 × matching dual-hose separator clamps
  • 1 × 3AN–16AN adjustable aluminum fitting wrench

All hose ends and separator clamps correspond to the selected 6AN, 8AN, or 10AN hose variant.

How Should the CPE Fuel Line Kit Be Installed?

  1. Select one AN size and verify that the hose ends match the ports or adapters used throughout the system.
  2. Plan the complete route before cutting and maintain the minimum bend radius listed for the selected hose size.
  3. Wrap the intended cutting point, make a square cut, and remove all loose stainless steel wire strands.
  4. Inspect and clean the inside of the hose so no rubber or metal fragments remain.
  5. Insert the hose fully into the socket and assemble the hose end with the included adjustable AN wrench.
  6. Use the separator clamps to align parallel hoses, then secure the lines to the vehicle with appropriate chassis-mounted supports.
  7. Keep the hose away from sharp edges, exhaust heat, and moving suspension or drivetrain components.
  8. Prime and pressure-test the completed system, then inspect every connection before operating the vehicle.

AN flare connections seal at the 37-degree mating surface. Do not apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the AN flare. Use compatible thread sealant only on separate tapered NPT connections when required.

Q: Is the EVIL ENERGY 8AN Stainless Steel Braided CPE Fuel Line Compatible with E85 or Methanol?

A: Do not use this CPE hose for a permanent E85 or methanol fuel system. High ethanol and methanol exposure can shorten the service life of a rubber-based inner liner through hardening, swelling or deterioration. Select an 8AN PTFE fuel hose and matching PTFE hose ends for continuous E85, methanol or high-ethanol service.

Q: Does the Stainless Steel Braid Prevent Fuel Odor and Vapor Permeation?

A: No. The stainless steel braid provides exterior abrasion protection and pressure reinforcement, but it does not create a vapor barrier. Fuel vapor permeation is controlled by the inner liner, and a CPE or conventional rubber liner can release fuel vapor without showing a visible liquid leak. Use PTFE or a dedicated low-permeation barrier hose when eliminating gasoline odor is a primary requirement.

Q: Can the 8AN Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Hose Pass Through a Firewall or Floor Panel?

A: Do not run the hose directly through an unprotected sheet-metal hole. Install an AN bulkhead fitting or a fuel-resistant grommet so the stainless braid cannot rub against the panel edge. Secure the hose on both sides of the opening and keep fuel lines outside the passenger compartment. A bulkhead fitting is the preferred solution because it creates a fixed, protected connection through the panel.

Q: Is Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Hose Better Than Nylon Braided Fuel Hose?

A: Choose stainless steel braid for underbody routing, areas exposed to road debris and locations requiring greater exterior abrasion protection. Choose nylon braid for protected engine-bay or chassis locations where lower weight, easier cutting and greater flexibility are more important. Stainless steel braid is stronger against external damage, while nylon braid is lighter and less likely to scratch adjacent painted or aluminum components.

Q: Where Should the Included 180-Degree 8AN Hose Ends Be Used?

A: Use the 180-degree hose ends on the pressurized side of the system when a compact U-turn is required at a fuel rail, regulator, filter or fuel cell connection. Do not install a 180-degree fitting between the fuel tank and the inlet of an external fuel pump. Tight bends on the pump’s suction side restrict inlet flow and increase the risk of cavitation. Use a straight fitting or a gradual hose bend at the pump inlet.
