EVIL ENERGY black aluminum hose barb tee fitting for fuel and vacuum lines

About This Item

Replace leaky plastic tees with a barbed tee fitting machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. Built for carbureted fuel systems, fuel return lines, and vacuum lines — 1500 PSI rated, with a -63°F to 252°F operating range that handles everything from cold starts to heat soak. The black anodized finish adds corrosion resistance and a clean under-hood look.

Key Features

  • 6061-T6 Aluminum Upgrade: Replaces cracked OEM plastic tees with CNC-machined aluminum for better durability without the added weight of brass.
  • Under-Hood Ready: Rated from -63°F to 252°F (-53°C to 122°C) and up to 1500 PSI for fuel, vacuum, and return line routing.
  • Clamp-On Hose Barb Design: Barbed ends are designed for rubber or compatible hose and should be secured with hose clamps for a leak-resistant seal.
  • Three Sizes, One Fitting Style: Choose 5/16", 3/8", or 1/2" barb at the top of this page — match to your existing hose inner diameter. Mixing sizes? Grab a matching barb reducer from our fittings lineup.

Why Choose 6061-T6 Aluminum Over Brass or Plastic?

6061-T6 aluminum offers a strong balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and low weight. Unlike plastic tees that may crack from heat, age, or pressure changes, this aluminum tee is built for more durable under-hood use. Compared with brass, it helps reduce weight while maintaining a clean black anodized finish.

Why Choose EVIL ENERGY Hose Barb Tee Fitting?

  • Consistent Barb Geometry: CNC-machined in-house, so every barb ridge is the same depth and pitch — no rejected units, no leaks from out-of-round castings.
  • True Multi-System Use: Same fitting handles low-pressure return lines, vacuum ports, PCV routing, oil catch-can plumbing, and windshield washer tees. One SKU, multiple bays of your build.
  • Backed by EVIL ENERGY Support: Free technical help by email, 30-day returns, and factory-direct pricing. Complete your build with our AN fittingsrubber and PTFE fuel hose, and hose clamps.

How Should You Install This Hose Barb Tee Fitting?

Install each hose leg in under 60 seconds by fully seating the hose over the barb and positioning the clamp correctly. For the best seal, the hose should bottom out against the center hub, and the clamp should sit behind the barb ridges instead of on the hose tip.

6061-T6 aluminum T union barb fitting for fuel return and vacuum hose routing

  1. Push the hose fully onto the barb: Slide the hose over the barbed end until it bottoms out against the center hub. You should feel the hose pass over each ridge.
  2. Position the hose clamp correctly: Place the clamp between the second and third barb ridge. Do not place it on the tip of the fitting or past the barbed section.
  3. Tighten until the hose slightly bulges: Snug the clamp until the hose begins to bulge slightly. This helps create a secure, leak-resistant seal.
  4. Use a small amount of fresh motor oil if needed: Apply a light drop of fresh motor oil to the barb before installation. This helps the hose slide on more easily and usually burns off after a few heat cycles.

Installation note: Always use properly sized hose clamps for fuel, vacuum, return line, or catch can routing.

If you need further information or assistance, feel free to ask!

Q: Is a 6061-T6 aluminum tee safe on gasoline and pump fuel?
A: Yes. 6061-T6 aluminum is widely used in fuel rails, AN fittings, and fuel cells across OEM and motorsport. The Type II black anodized coating adds a second barrier against corrosion from pump gas, condensation, and mild ethanol exposure.

Q: Do I need a hose clamp, or will the barb hold on its own?
A: Always use a hose clamp. Barb ridges create friction, but only a clamp compresses the hose into the barb valley to lock the joint under pressure spikes and heat cycles. A worm-gear or T-bolt clamp sized to your hose OD is the standard.

Q: Can I use this tee on coolant, oil, or power steering lines?

A: The tee is engineered and tested for fuel, fuel return, and vacuum service. Aluminum is chemically compatible with common coolants and oils, but for pressurized coolant or high-heat oil lines, we recommend confirming your operating temperature and pressure against the fitting rating first.

Q: How do I pick the right barb size?

A: Match the barb size to the inner diameter of the hose you are cutting into. A 5/16" barb goes into 5/16" ID hose, 3/8" barb into 3/8" ID hose, and 1/2" barb into 1/2" ID hose. Never force a smaller barb into oversized hose — you will get a leak even with a clamp.
